Scenic’s Redesigned Space-Ship on Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers Offer Guests More

Travel Agent News for Scenic Spaceship experience

Boston & Vancouver, May 23rd, 2019 – Scenic continues its tradition of keeping its Space-Ships up to date with its recent redesign of eight of their European Space Ships, now sailing on the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers. The company’s two France-based Space-Ships were similarly redesigned for the 2017 season. Highlights from the rebuilds that took place this past winter include reducing the number of cabins/guest to 80/159 (Scenic Ruby and Pearl) and 82/163 (Scenic Jasper, Opal, Amber, Crystal, Jade and Jewel) while adding four more crew for even greater personal service; a new 520 ft² Royal Owners Suite; larger wellness centers which include the gym, massage services and hair dresser; and, unique to Scenic, a Salt Therapy lounge. The company has also installed a still and bubbly refillable water station on each ship for guests wishing to use reusable bottles as the company moves towards eliminating single-use plastics.

On-board yoga and stretching classes, more active excursions such as bike tours on the company’s e-bikes and comfortable hiking in scenic landscapes, round out the new experiences for guests.

The three-station salt lounge offers guests a non-invasive way to feel energized and healthier while relaxing. The humidity and temperature-controlled room is handcrafted from salt bricks and creates a micro-climate of a natural salt mine. Its three inclined lounging chairs are separated by light curtains for privacy, and low-level lighting and calming music promotes the natural relaxing effects of the salt. Guests on board the two ships are free to use the rooms as they wish, spending up to a recommended 45 minutes in the peaceful environment. The negatively-charged salt ions bear a very high kinetic energy and offer the same refreshing feeling that one might find when standing on a beach. The ions also increase the efficacy of healing, improve respiration and skin conditions and boost the immune system. And finishing up with a customized Aroma Oil Massage is certain to leave the guest in a most relaxed state.

The new Royal Owner’s Suite offers walk-in closets, separate bathtub and showers in an oversized bathroom, a private bedroom and a large living room. The walk-out balcony allows guests to take in the beauty of the landscapes while enjoying butler-delivered drinks and meals.

The 5-star Scenic Space-Ships offer all-inclusive luxury experiences – from private butler service and unlimited complimentary beverages and spirits including mini-bar re-stocked daily, to full-size private balcony staterooms – all making use of Scenic’s unique Sun Lounge technology – where the walkout open-air balcony can convert to an all-weather lounge with a push of a button, expanding the living area of the stateroom. On-board river highlights and on-shore experiences are made exceptional by the Scenic’s innovative Tailormade app, that guests can download onto their smart phones – acting as a GPS guided independent tour system and river view commentary.

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has grown over its 33-year history to include award-winning, all-inclusive escorted tours that take participants to many of the world’s most fascinating destinations and since 2008, its 15 Space-Ships offer truly all-inclusive, five-star river cruises in Europe, SE Asia, Russia and Egypt. In 2019, Scenic is introducing the world’s first Discovery Yacht, the 228-guest Scenic Eclipse. Sister brand Emerald Waterways has eight Star-Ships offering European river sailings with an eighth (Emerald Harmony) launching in 2019 for SE Asia’s Mekong River. Exclusive charters are offered on SE Asia’s Irrawaddy River; the Volga River in Russia; yacht cruises out of Croatia; and Egypt’s Nile River.
