Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona to Participate in Renowned Gastronomic Festival

The property will be one of few to participate in all four categories of the gastronomic festival, including the “Four Hands Kitchen” experience hosted by Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany and Catalan chef Fina Puigdevall

BARCELONA, Spain (March 3, 2020) – For the third consecutive year, Barcelona’s Passeig de Gracia, one of the most iconic streets in the city, will deliver its unique gastronomic festival. From March 12 to 22, “Passeig de Gourmets,” will offer a variety of food and drinks at special prices available at 20 of the neighborhood’s most noteworthy restaurants. Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona’s headline participation in the festival is highlighted by providing all four experiences that form the event under the same roof: the platillos or small plates tour; the tasting menu; the “Four Hands Kitchen,” and the gourmet experience. The 271-room property, a 102-year old landmark in the city of Guadi, prides itself on offering mouthwatering cuisine and avant-garde menus.

For travelers seeking a quick bite or platillo at El Bar del Majestic, the five-star hotel will offer a fresh platter highlighting Catalan cuisine for only 7 euros, including Estrella Damm beer, Juve & Camps cava and soda. At SOLC, the property’s farm-to-table concept restaurant, Passeig de Gourmets enthusiasts can enjoy a tasting menu prepared by the restaurant’s Executive Chef, Luis Llamas. The menu will be filled with succulent dishes such as Catalan flatbread with artichokes, Catalonian scallions, parmentier, monkfish stew and Duroc suckling pig, to name a few. This tasting menu will be priced at 50 euros (approximately $55 USD).

One of the main attractions of this culinary event, also taking place at SOLC, will be the Four Hands Kitchen experience, where two prominent chefs will be cooking for guests. On March 18, Michelin-starred chefs Nandu Jubany, also chef consultant at Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona, and Fina Puigdevall will deliver their take on Catalan cuisine.

Lastly, the gourmet experience will take place in a cooking gameshow format where two participants will ideate and prepare a dish based on surprise ingredients. A jury comprised of team members from the hotel will pick a winner who will receive a complimentary lunch or dinner for two at Restaurant SOLC as their prize.
