G Adventures celebrates 1,000 trips departing as booking window shortens

Community tourism pioneer – G Adventures offers up to 20 percent off ‘Classic’ adventures

Last week, G Adventures celebrated its 1,000th tour departure since September 2020 – with not one, but 11 trips departing to coincide with the milestone date. It also recorded its shortest booking window since the pandemic, with people booking on average four months prior to departure, which is on a par with pre-Covid lead times.

To celebrate the milestones in the return to international travel, the small group adventure operator is offering up to 20 percent off its popular Classic program of adventures, and reassuring agents that it has plenty of inventory for those looking to book their long-awaited adventure.

The 1,000th departures highlight how G Adventures has safely and successfully operated tours since September 2020 – more departures than any other operator since the onset of the global pandemic – supporting employment and boosting the local economies in countries dependent on tourism such as Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Peru and Turkey.

Ben Perlo, managing director for G Adventures in the US, says that four month lead time, which is a return to the average pre-Covid booking window, shows that travelers are gaining confidence and clearly eager to get back on the road.

“We’re back running trips in more than 20 countries and are experienced in the new protocols required for travel as the world reopens – and our up to 20 percent off sale is a great incentive to book now,” said Perlo. “The shrinking book-to-travel window proves travelers are trusting us to get them back out into the world for some long-awaited fun and adventure.”

Example Classic tours with up to 20 percent off that are available to book up until November 1, 2021, for travel before October 31, 2022  include the following:

  • The Inca Journey – Explore the best of Peru, from ruins high in the Andes to wildlife deep in the Amazon. Embrace cultures past and present in Cusco before traveling by rail to Machu Picchu. This month, G Adventures also started its Vaccinated Tours and Travel-Ready programs, which are an evolution of its Travel with Confidence policy which also remains in place. This policy was introduced in June, 2020, and saw the implementation of enhanced health, safety and physical distancing measures across all tours.

On Vaccinated Tours, all travelers and CEOs (chief experience officers) must have received a full COVID-19 vaccination with the final dose administered at least 14 days prior to day one of the tour. On Travel-Ready tours, all travellers and CEOs must have either received a full COVID-19 vaccination, or have a negative PCR test within 96 hours prior to day one of their tour’s departure. An icon will be featured next to each trip on the website to indicate which category of tour the departure falls under.

All trips booked benefit from G Adventures’ Book with Confidence policy, which lets travelers cancel or rebook their tour up to 14 days before their departure at no extra cost.
