Company Rolls Out Brand New Custom Titanium Bikes in 2018

Additionally, Backroads is celebrating by rolling out entirely new high-performance custom-built titanium road bikes to go with their best-in-class bike fleet offerings. Backroads offers bike tours for every kind of cyclist – from easygoing to epic as well as trips for families – with route options and extra route support to ensure everyone is well cared for and happy.
In 1979 Backroads was founded as a bike tour adventure travel company with the first departure in Death Valley. The company expanded with trips in the California Wine Country, the California Coast, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, the Canadian Rockies and San Juan Islands. Backroads now offers more than 125 biking itineraries throughout the United States and across more than 30 countries, including many of the original destinations. This year Backroads has scheduled over 1,200 dedicated bike tour departures, and biking is also a featured activity on hundreds of Backroads multi-adventure trips.

Free GPS on Biking Trips
Backroads offers free GPS devices on all bike tours. In 2018, the Garmin Edge Explore 1000 GPS device will be used on European biking trips and Wahoo devices will be used on North American bike tours. They’re easy to use, offer easy-to-follow directions and come pre-loaded with all routes and route options specific to each trip. Paper turn-by-turn directions are also provided on all tours.
