Apple Leisure Group and Grupo Inversor Hesperia reopen two five-star hotels in Lanzarote

JUNE 12, 2021 – Apple Leisure Group® (ALG), a leading U.S. group of companies in the leisure travel segment, and Grupo Inversor Hesperia, which owns and operates these properties, reopened two five-star resorts on the island of Lanzarote on May 28: Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort & Spa, which opened its doors as a Dreams-branded resort for the first time after an extensive renovation, and Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa.

 

Boasting 465 rooms, the opening of Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort & Spa is a double milestone for Apple Leisure Group: it is the first time that the property opens its doors under an AMResorts brand, and it is also the first AMResorts Dreams-branded resort in Europe. Prior to its opening, the hotel underwent a comprehensive renovation valued at 20 million euros to meet the Dreams Resorts & Spas brand standards.

 

Located on the beachfront of Playa Blanca and a 10-minute walk from the Marina Rubicón, this is a five-star family resort with a strong gastronomy offering that combines international and local concepts through its five restaurants and nine bars, and offers exclusive services for members of the Preferred Club.

 

Among its facilities, Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada has nine heated swimming pools, some of them with water slides, spa facilities with an exclusive sports and wellness center with body and facial treatments, and a fitness area open 24 hours with pool bike, aquagym, yoga and pilates classes. In addition, children have access to extensive activities and entertainment at the Explorer’s Club while teenagers can enjoy the Core Zone Club with leisure options customized for their age range.

 

Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa, a five-star adults-only concept, has operated under the Secrets Resorts & Spa brand since January 2020, and has opened and closed on several occasions due to Covid-19 restrictions. It is the second Secrets-branded resort in Europe.

Located in the tourist center of Puerto Calero, on the seafront and with six heated outdoor pools, each of its 335 rooms includes the “Unlimited Experience” concept which exemplifies the highest-end AMResorts establishments in Europe, with a vast gastronomy offering, premium drinks and daily minibar refill, and varied sports and wellness offerings.

 

With this inaugural opening of Dreams and the reopening of Secrets, as of Friday, June 4, there are 12 hotels currently operating as AMResorts brands properties in Spain, where the company has a total of 47 assets and 12,239 rooms that position the group as the fourth largest hotel company by number of beds in the country.
