World’s First Discovery Yacht Introduces “Rediscovery Voyages”

Boston & Vancouver, June 2017 – The world’s first Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse, is a 6-star experience that represents a new era in ultra-luxury ocean cruising. And Scenic is giving guests the chance to fully immerse themselves in some purposeful pampering on its exclusive “Rediscovery Voyage.” Before they were known as “repositioning cruises,” the transatlantic voyage was regarded as a truly romantic and relaxing way to travel and were on nearly everyone’s bucket list. Scenic’s “Rediscovery Voyages” are bringing back the old-style sailing and updating it with the newest technology and luxury items.

Scenic Eclipse’s array of onboard amenities and stimulating activities makes the “Rediscovery Voyage” a perfect way to rekindle the flame, focus on both body and mind, and take a break from life’s stresses and the constant barrage of the endless interruptions in its enjoyment. Scenic offers two opportunities in 2018: the company’s Inaugural Transatlantic Crossing, departing Barcelona on Sept. 22, 2018 and ending in Miami 14 days later, and an eight-day South America coastline sojourn from Guayaquil to Valparaiso, embarking on Nov. 16, 2018. Prices start at US$6,495/CAN$7,865 and US$3,295/CAN$4,175 per person, double, respectively.

On a “Rediscovery Voyage,” guests will be treated to the world-class features on board the 228-guest Scenic Eclipse – such as every spacious suite boasting a private verandah and lounge, ten dining experiences including 24-hour in-suite dining, unlimited complimentary beverages, butler service for all guests, the rejuvenating 5,900 ft² Spa Sanctuary, ample public spaces including eight lounges and bars, and a truly all-inclusive experience. But that is only half the story as they’ll also get the chance to indulge in a range of activities.

A first-class cooking emporium with daily classes, yoga and pilates, massages and other spa options, dancing, a Kindle e-book library, wine and cheese tastings with a sommelier, cocktail making, live entertainment, and a movie theatre are just some of the choices. With multiple days spent at sea, and no set touring itinerary, guests get to structure their own daily schedule – enjoying all that is offered or bowing out from time to time to simply relax in a therapeutic Jacuzzi with a glass of champagne; enjoy lazy afternoons around the indoor or outdoor pool; or have your butler plan a private cocktail party on the spacious stateroom verandas where you can exchange stories with new found friends. The stress of international travel transfers is also minimal as guests on the Transatlantic Crossing can book a one-way trip to Europe and leisurely sail back to the United States.

At the port stops guests will experience a range of included Scenic Freechoice shore excursions, such as a visit to the Rock of Gibraltar, taking an e-bike excursion or enjoying a rum and food tasting tour in Nassau on the Inaugural Transatlantic Crossing. On the South America sailing, discover the adobe Pyramid of the Sun and Moon or marvel at the Marinera dance of the Paso horses. Alternatively visit the amazing ruins of Chan Chan or tour the charming colonial city of Trujillo.

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has grown over its 30-year history to include award-winning, all-inclusive escorted tours that take participants to many of the world’s most fascinating destinations; two award-winning river cruise lines – Scenic and Emerald Waterways; and, in 2018, the world’s first Discovery Yacht – Scenic Eclipse. Emerald Waterways’ seven Star Ships offer deluxe cruises in Europe, and the Mekong, while Scenic’s 15 Space Ships offer truly all-inclusive, five-star river cruises in the same destinations as well as the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar.
